The current CRE portfolio features large Buy To Let facilities across four key sectors – Office, Retail, Industrial and Multi-family Residential. We are now looking to recruit Commercial Directors, who will maintain and develop this key product into the future. The successful candidates will join the First Citizen team reporting initially to the Managing Director.

Job Description:   The Commercial Directors will lead in the development and maintenance of relationships with professional advisors, intermediaries, and customers. Successful candidates will have a clear and concise view of the challenges facing investors in a rising interest rate environment while managing the limitations imposed by non-Bank lending. They will process clear detailed proposals with strong communication skills and an ability to influence all stakeholders in the process. The successful candidates will have an existing relationship with those advisors currently providing similar services in this field and be able to demonstrate a track record in achieving tangible results

Requirements for this Role:   We offer excellent career opportunities to the right candidates, who will demonstrate the following key characteristics:

  • Currently, or recently, involved in an Irish CRE lending or CRE transaction origination role, with 5 years’ senior experience;
  • Strong understanding of the Irish CRE lending market, and the key factors influencing it;
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills;
  • Proven, demonstrable, relationship management skills;
  • Ability to lead in the process of various types of CRE loan applications through identification, negotiation, approval, and activation stages, including strong financial assessment skills;
  • Appropriate formal product knowledge, likely to be evidenced through relevant qualifications and / or professional memberships;
  • A high level of attention to detail regarding all aspects of their role; and
  • As the role involves being a team player, an ability to facilitate team support is required

Job Skills & Requirements:   The successful candidate is likely to have the following key skills and attributes:

  • Underwriting experience in the Motor industry is required / desirable
  • Experience in the credit / risk function of an established lending institution
  • Educated to third level / professional qualification level
  • Knowledge of Motor asset finance sector
  • Knowledge of the regulatory landscape governing the asset finance sector
  • Strong interpersonal skills – ability to interact with internal and external customers and be an exceptional team player
  • Strong knowledge of asset finance products – incl. leasing, hire purchase & loans
  • Ability to analyse and interpret financial statements / bank statements desirable
  • Attention to detail is essential 
  • The ability to work proactively, identify problems, and find solutions
  • Minimum APA (Accredited Product Advisor)

Job Description:   As a Collections Agent, the ideal candidate will be required to build and maintain customer relationships within the arrears support function. The individual will be responsible for handling a high volume of outgoing collections calls focused on AML, quality and compliance and will work to agreed revenue targets and SLA's. Policies and procedures to be strictly adhered to and best practice implemented at all times. The role will require extensive phone, PC work, data entry and participation in projects. This role will provide access and exposure to all departments and levels of the organisation. The ideal candidate must have an ability to step into, quickly understand and take ownership of assigned tasks and have a keen eye for process improvement.

Responsibilities:    These include –

  • Handling high-volume inbound and outbound calls to customers
  • Negotiating repayment of arrears on Loan Agreements
  • Managing a portfolio of customers and building relationships
  • Assessing customer’s current financial circumstances and providing a workable solution for all parties, i.e. organising realistic payment plans in line with company policies and regulations
  • Adhering to team and individual cash collection targets and daily / weekly KPI's
  • Reporting and escalating high risk cases to management.

Job Skills & Requirements:   The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and knowledge –

  • Previous collections experience in a financial services or banking environment desirable
  • Hold Accredited Product Advisor (APA) status in Loans or be prepared to acquire this qualification
  • Ability to meet KPI's and weekly cash collection targets
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in the use of MS Word and Excel (experience with financial / banking systems a distinct advantage)
  • Accurate, high speed data entry skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Strong organisational skills and multi-tasking abilities
