Job Description:   This is an opportunity for an experienced and ambitious financial accountant to join a growing organisation in the financial services sector. This role reports to the Finance Manager and provides an opportunity for the successful applicant to lead and take ownership of key tasks within Finance. This role will provide access and exposure to all departments and levels of the organisation. The ideal candidate must have an ability to step into, quickly understand and take ownership of assigned tasks and have a keen eye for process improvement. The successful candidate will be a team player with an ability to provide guidance and leadership to other members of the team, possess a strong business acumen combined with an ability to work on multiple tasks and effectively communicate with management in respect of their responsibilities. For this role knowledge of financial statement preparation and forecasting are an advantage.

Responsibilities:   These include –                                                                     

  • Accounting for Motor Finance, Agri and SME Equipment Finance and Commercial Real Estate Divisions 
  • Debtors management – review of client service fees calculations and related invoices
  • Contributing to the management reporting and statutory accounting work streams including the Group Consolidation file
  • Variance analysis as part of the reporting process
  • Cash flow and P&L forecasting
  • Calculation and preparation of VAT and corporation tax returns
  • Review, analysis and interpretation of legal documents to ensure correct processing of financial transactions
  • SPV Servicer and Cash Manager report reviews
  • Managing relationships with Corporate Service Providers to ensure alignment between Group and SPVs from an accounting perspective
  • Providing sign-off on process controls during the month end process
  • Systems accounting in respect of HP and lease databases – learn, document and automate processes

Job Skills & Requirements:   The successful candidate will have the following key skills and attributes –                                                                     

  • Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with 1 to 3 years PQE
  • Financial services experience
  • Understanding of securitisations and SPVs would be an advantage.
  • Excellent time management and planning skills so that work is prioritized and strict deadlines met even when faced with outside distractions
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Excel with an eye for challenging existing processes
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of management and the capacity to work on own initiative

Job Skills & Requirements:   The successful candidate will have the following key skills and attributes –                                                                     

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in the Motor / Asset Finance sector, to include significant knowledge of the Motor Industry
  • Assist Motor Dealers / Intermediaries to effectively and professionally handle the sales process of Asset finance products while adhering to the regulatory landscape governing the sector
  • A good understanding of how the Agri and SME Asset Finance sectors operate and an ability to develop relationships with Agri Dealers, Approved Intermediaries and SME customers
  • Strong interpersonal skills; confident and persuasive; flexibility and adaptability
  • A high level of attention to detail regarding all aspects of their role
  • Sound planning and organisational skills; objection handling and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (verbal, written and numerical skills)
  • Ability to achieve Sales and Financial Volume targets at acceptable Margin and Risk levels whilst working to tight guidelines. Candidate must be commercially aware.
  • Effective territory management on daily / weekly / monthly basis
  • Strong analytical skills with a good understanding of the Credit and Risk framework

Policies and procedures to be strictly adhered to and best practice implemented at all times. The role will require extensive phone, PC work, data entry and participation in projects. Responsibilities: These include – 

  • Handling high-volume inbound and outbound calls to customers 
  • Negotiating repayment of arrears on Loan Agreements 
  • Managing a portfolio of customers and building relationships 
  • Assessing customer’s current financial circumstances and providing a workable solution for all parties, i.e. organising realistic payment plans in line with company policies and regulations 
  • Adhering to team and individual cash collection targets and daily / weekly KPI's 
  • Reporting and escalating high risk cases to management.

Job Skills & Requirements: The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and knowledge –

  • Previous collections experience in a financial services or banking environment desirable 
  • Hold Accredited Product Advisor (APA) status in Loans or be prepared to acquire this qualification 
  • Ability to meet KPI's and weekly cash collection targets  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Proficient in the use of MS Word and Excel (experience with financial / banking systems a distinct advantage)
